MINE is a project of the Federation of Ontario Libraries (FOPL), in partnership with the Kitchener Waterloo Multicultural Centre, with support from the Kitchener Public Library and the Waterloo Public Library.

FOPL received funding for the MINE project in 2019 from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

MINE has developed and piloted an online training workshop on information skills for newcomers, with a focus on employment, skills development and financial literacy.

The MINE project leads are Laura Heller and Miriam Ticoll, librarians with decades of experience working in libraries and information services.
